Stephen is one of few in the world to have achieved over 7000 grafts while only using the FUE, Follicular Unit Extraction Hair Transplant Technique. The majority of his FUE has been scalp, he started prior to any surgery with a higher than average donor density, over 100 FU per cm2; this allowed for around 6500 scalp FU to be removed and without causing any obvious signs of scarring or hair less areas. Stephen likes to keep his hair very short even now when he has a good head of hair, so no signs of scarring was very important to him. Even with Stephen's good hair characteristics it was not possible to cover from his hair line to crown, what we call total restoration, for this he has to rely on BH or body hair. The majority of stephenl's BH has been beard hair, Dr. Bisanga feels this has a better yield factor compared to traditional body hair and has more resemblance to scalp hair. To date he has had 2 beard hair procedures, first a smaller 200 grafts 9 months ago that are growing well, then more recently another 400 grafts that are just beginning to come through. Watch for updates as Stephen goes for total restoration with FUE and no linear scar.

6 Months since my last op..temples closed and more to crown, getting continued growth and good comments..will be planning for my next op for early 2011 so watch this space..

A year past my last procedure to close temples and added some to crown.

Next procedure booked for end of June whereby the lower crown will be the target area. A case of whatever available from scalp, beard and if need be chest to add more there. Already at 8,000 grafts so will expect to get to 9,000 in my next procedure. This is rare for sure and especially as all FUE or BHFUE so will keep all updated with pictures and graft details

Last op June 2011 approx 800 grafts, mixture of scalp and beard. 600 or so went to crown and rest just touchups.


Small amount of grafts really but so far has made a big difference and I have coverage everywhere now. Will wait till September to see where we go from here and if anymore needed as still maturity and growth to come from last surgery. It is nice to feel good quality hairs in my lower crown I have to say and the spiral has come in nicely. And of course as a patient also a big thank you to Doctor.B and Natacha and Natalie who have worked on me for years.
